The Perfect Valentine’s Day.

Whether you celebrate v-day or not, a bit of indulgence is essential in making it through the rest of year with our relationships (and sanity), intact. We’ve pulled together our ultimate guide with no expense spared because it’s our list and we will daydream if we want to.

Even though any one of these experiences on their own would make it a very special day indeed. Hint hint.

8am Breakfast at Estabar

The perfect day begins with crepes and no one does crepes like Estabar, perched above Newcastle beach. Topped with rhubarb compote, homemade gelato and maple syrup, the crepes are inhaled with a side of Single O coffee and the heady anticipation of the day ahead.

10am Bathing at Bogey Hole

A short stroll to Bogey Hole for a refreshing saltwater dip and a spot of sun safe bathing with the locals.

11am Browsing Boutiques on Darby St

With a strong flat white from Xtraction Espresso in hand, next on the list is a wander along King St towards Darby to swoon over curated homewares at Monsoon Living and designer labels and vintage records at Attica.

1pm Lunch at Light Years

Shared plates bursting with fresh flavours and zesty cocktails await at this newly opened modern Asian gem.  Sit back, relax and take in the undeniably chic décor and tunes over a leisurely long lunch.

3pm Sauna at Zadig

It is time for some therapeutic healing at Newcastle’s first infrared sauna to relieve any last remenants of tension and after 40 minutes in the gentle heat, you leave feeling a deep sense of revitalisation.

4pm Check into Terminus Hotel

There is a reason Terminus is consistently voted the best hotel in Newcastle. They do customer service like nobody in the business. So, soak in the adulation at check in, take a nap on the cloud-like bed, followed by an invigorating shower and a glass of bubbles watching the sunset from your balcony.

7pm Dinner at Harrison’s

The grand finale is dinner at new kid on the block - Harrison’s. The heartfelt décor including art lined walls, linen tablecloths and vintage floral china has date night written all over it. Try the 24 month proscuitto di parma, oysters and slow cooked basque style chicken with saffron rice. If there is any room left for dessert, sample the delicious local chocolates waiting in your hotel room before falling into a deep food coma sleep.

Now that’s romance.
